The Moneyland comparison service examined the willingness of the Swiss population to change jobs. The bottom line: Swiss people are more likely to switch mobiles than cellphone subscriptions and family doctors rather than banks. (icon image)

In the past decade, only 36 percent of respondents have changed their home bank. It was 37 percent each for loans, savings and private accounts, as Moneyland announced Wednesday. On the other hand, 57 percent changed their family doctor within the same period.

Also, more than half changed their smartphone at least three times, compared to less than a quarter with a mobile subscription. Changing cell phone subscriptions isn’t as popular as filing tax returns, the statement said. But you can save a lot by switching.

Respondents also showed little willingness to switch health insurance companies: more than half indicated that they had changed their health insurance company at least once in the past ten years. However, those who changed providers at least five times were worth only eight percent. In the statement, it was stated that there is potential for savings for customers here as well.

Health insurance was changed much more often in French-speaking Switzerland than in German-speaking Switzerland. According to Moneyland, this is because premiums tend to be higher in western Switzerland. But it has also been shown that French-speaking Swiss are more willing to change than German-speaking Swiss: 39 percent of respondents from French-speaking Switzerland said they have changed their hobbies at least once. Among German-Swiss women it was 55 percent. In general, older people were less open to change than younger people.

According to the report, the representative survey was conducted by the market research institute Ipsos among 1,538 German and French speaking people in Switzerland.
