Since December 2016, public transport prices have remained stable at the national level for seven years – there has never been a longer period without price increases in public transport.
Alliance SwissPass has now decided to implement a tariff increase of around 4.3 percent as of December 10, 2023. It is differentiated to put less burden on half-fee travel card and single ticket, which are “entry-level products” in public transport.
The “normal fare” (single ticket price) will be increased by 4.2 percent, just as it is for daily and multi-trip tickets and class changes. At the same time, the class range is generally reduced by 0.05 times. As a result, the prices in the 1st class do not increase as much as in the 2nd class (1st class 1.9 percent / 2nd class 4.8 percent).
The Half-Mouse travel card for adults will cost 5 francs more and cost 190 francs (first purchase) or 170 francs (loyalty discount). GA travel cards will increase by an average of 5.1 percent. A GA travel card for adults now costs CHF 4,080 (+ CHF 220 or 5.7 percent).
