CS customers will be notified of the merger in a webcast Tuesday.

Customers are avoiding Credit Suisse. Confidence seems to be gone. As Blick explains, in the past few days alone Postfinance has received several 100 million francs in client funds from CS.

Now CS wants to reassure the remaining customers with an online event. Blick received the invitation: At eight o’clock next Tuesday, the bank wants to explain “what the merger means for our bank” to customers “in a Webcast on the merger of Credit Suisse and UBS.”

Who is the invitation for?

However, it is unclear whether the bank invited all customers or only the wealthy. The webcast will be in German and there will be simultaneous translation into French, Italian and English. The bank has yet to comment on Blick.

However, the invitation appears to be aimed at customers in Switzerland: the event’s two speakers are Credit Suisse Switzerland CEO André Helfenstein (56) and Roger Suter. The latter is the head of private banking in Switzerland.

In the invitation, CS reassures “Dear customers, you don’t need to take action”. Until the merger is completed by the end of 2023, CS will continue to operate as usual. The focus is on ‘soft transition’ and ‘perfect service’.

Sorry, not on the agenda.

As in the case of CS President Axel Lehmann (64), one waits in vain for an apology. CS only writes about turbulence and “lots of comments and speculations about CS”. But the big bank stresses that the situation is difficult for everyone involved – “especially our valued customers”.

According to the schedule, the two gentlemen will talk for a total of 15 minutes at the beginning of the webcast. This is followed by a half-hour question and answer session. However, if CS has indeed invited all Swiss customers, it is unlikely that all questions will be answered within 30 minutes.
