As the company announced on Friday, sales were up 2 percent to one billion francs. Currency developments clearly had a negative impact. Adjusted accordingly, the increase was 7.5 percent. Germany accounted for 69 percent of sales and Switzerland 31 percent.
Operating profit (EBIT) meanwhile rose 5.9 percent to 70.6 million, while the corresponding margin rose 0.2 basis points to 7.0 percent. Mobilezone had forecast an operating profit of CHF 70 to 80 million for 2022.
However, the targeted EBITDA margin of 7.6 percent could not be reached. According to Mobilezone, this is because the economic environment weakened the margins on German trade in the second half of the year.
As a result, the 7.6 percent higher net profit was 54.5 million francs. As previously announced, shareholders will receive a dividend of CHF 0.90 per share. That’s 6 inches more than last year.
In Germany’s wider market area, Mobilezone managed to increase the number of contracts signed by 6.3 percent to 638,000. In Switzerland, where the company mainly operates stationery stores, the number of new contracts increased by 9.8 percent to 437,000.
For the current year, Mobilezone believes its business model is correct. For example, a revival in the consumer climate is expected for spring in Germany.
Mobilezone specifically targets an EBIT of 70 to 77 million francs for 2023. The EBITDA margin is also expected to increase over the next few years. If the financial targets are met in 2023, Mobilezone is looking to increase the dividend even more. (SDA)
