As the group announced on Tuesday, Adecco Group’s sales rose 13 percent to €6.21 billion in October-December. Organic growth was 5% when excluded from currency effects and different working days.
It was stated that the group grew particularly strongly in December (+6%). Analysts had expected less growth and thought it would slow towards the end of the year. Adecco grew 4 percent and 6 percent in the second and third quarters, respectively.
The operating result at the EBITA level, which includes one-off effects, fell 12 percent to €228 million in the last quarter. The associated margin was 3.6 percent in the third quarter and 3.7 percent, after 4.7 percent a year ago. Adecco had intensified its investments for future growth last year.
As a result, the group earned 65 million, 65 percent less than a year ago. In addition to lower operating results, some special effects were noted to put pressure on profits.
As last year, Adecco plans to pay its shareholders a dividend of CHF 2.50 per share this year. 1,85 CHF is paid in cash and 0,65 CHF from capital reserves.
The group is cautiously optimistic for the current fiscal year. We are confident that the planned savings will be achieved. Meanwhile, it was stated that the growth in January weakened somewhat compared to December. (SDA)
