Owners of the “Magic Pass” mountain railway schedule network can no longer get discounted day tickets to the 4 best ski areas in Bern. Participating ski areas Adelboden-Lenk, Gstaad, Jungfrau Ski Area and Meiringen-Hasliberg stopped the campaign after just one week.
Jungfrau Railways announced this on Monday. The 30 percent discount daily ticket campaign started on January 9th. It was said that at the time they wanted to get as many guests to ski as possible.

The Magic Pass network includes several dozen resorts in the cantons of Valais and Vaud, Friborg, Neuchâtel and Bern. The Bernese top 4 regions are not among them. But there are many small ski areas in the Bernese Oberland that join the Magic Pass – some of which lack snow due to the lower altitude.
“Those in charge of Magic Pass urged the top 4 ski areas to stop the campaign,” says Jungfrau Railways in a statement. This request is currently being addressed. “The four ski areas are very upset that the promotion is only available for a short time.”
The 4 best ski areas retreat
As Jungfrau Railways spokesperson Kathrin Naegeli said when asked on Monday, the issue is now off the table. “For the top 4 ski areas, the issue is too insignificant to pursue further from an overall economic point of view.” You don’t want a lawsuit.
As Magic Pass administrator, Magic Mountains Cooperation declined to comment on request. The operations manager explained that he took note of the press release from the top 4 ski areas. “As this is the pricing policy of companies that do not belong to Magic Pass, the cooperative does not comment on this.” (SDA/shq)
