Protest action against WEF causes traffic jam

A little normalcy is back in Switzerland: the World Economic Forum (WEF), the annual meeting of the rich and powerful, will be held again in January this year after the Corona holiday in 2021 and the weakened meeting in May last year.

In the editorial offices of Swiss media houses, opinions about the DEF are mostly divided: some have little or nothing to do with the covert incident in the mountains with dire security costs, others see benefits for the country and the economy.

At the heart of this year’s WEF are serious problems: the Ukrainian war, climate change, the energy crisis, inflation and declining economic growth – just a few of the challenges facing the world in 2023.

That’s why it’s important for a small country like Switzerland to be the center of global attention for a week.
