Rising energy prices are a burden for people who own their own homes. In a Comparis survey released Tuesday, 10.4 percent of property owners said they were greatly harmed by high energy prices. A heavier load stands out for 45.0 percent.
According to Comparis, almost half of homeowners in Switzerland are heated by gas or oil. 43.6% of them want to invest in a more environmentally friendly heating system.
According to the study, homeowners primarily want to switch to heat pumps, central heating or solar energy. In pellet heating systems, the situation is different: only 22.9 percent of people using wood burning want to switch to a different heating energy.
The majority still heat with conventional energies: Oil, gas and pellet heating make up 56.1 percent, according to Comparis. Heat pumps are 28.6 percent, central heating is 7.7 percent and solar energy is 3.1 percent.
