The car number is almost as expensive as the luxury Bentley emblazoned on the front. The most expensive license plate in Switzerland costs 233,000 Swiss Francs. Usually, the owners of such plates are quite cautious, and therefore they are rarely recognized.
Not so with this shield. It is owned by crypto entrepreneur and former Bitcoin Suisse boss Niklas Nikolajsen (47). Bought it back in 2018, it says “balance sheet”.
ZH 100 misses record
In fact, this record was expected to fall this year. In November, the Road Traffic Department of the Canton of Zurich offered the ZH 100 sign at an auction. However, the record did not fall. At the auction “only” 226,000 Swiss Francs unraveled the lowest Zurich license plate. The anonymous bidder, nicknamed “Mistermh”, is unknown.
The record amount has just been missed should please the eccentric billionaire and Bentley fan Nikolajsen. He’s also found a new gem that will lead the number from now on: a Mercedes Pullman from 1938. Depending on the model and condition, this costs more than half a million francs.
