Many travel-hungry people want to increase their vacation spending for the next year despite inflation and additional strains on the household budget. They mostly want to spend their free days in Switzerland and European cities or beaches.
This is the result of a survey published Monday on behalf of the travel company DER Touristik Suisse, to which the Kuoni brand belongs.
One-third want to spend more money in 2023
Finding: Only one-fifth (21 percent) want to cut their vacation budget. Meanwhile, half (48 percent) of those surveyed are willing to spend as much as they did this year. In fact, almost a third (31 percent) plan to spend more on vacation in 2023.
Kuoni’s survey results are confirmed by the fact that, on the one hand, the need for a post-Corona recovery has not yet been met, and on the other hand, many people in Switzerland have survived the pandemic well and are less affected by inflation. .
European cities and beaches are popular
The most popular travel destinations are nearby. Holidays in Switzerland are the most popular with 36 percent. City trips and beach holidays in Europe follow closely. For almost a quarter of those surveyed, additional trips outside of Europe must also be required.
According to the information received, the survey was conducted by the market research institute Marketagent Switzerland in November 2022 and included a good 1100 people. (SDA/shq)
