With the tariff change on December 11, SBB is expanding its range of entertainment services. For example, there is a direct connection every two hours between Romanshorn TG and Interlaken BE. This means that the Bernese Oberland is now better connected with eastern Switzerland and the greater Zurich region. In addition, Basel and Olten benefit from additional direct links to Valais.
The offer on the Gotthard axis will be expanded on weekends, especially in the summer – thanks to additional trains from north to south on Friday and in the opposite direction on Sunday.
To Graubünden every half hour
Intercity trains for leisure travel run almost every half hour on weekends between Zurich and Chur. In the future, there will also be two direct intercity connections between Geneva and Chur on weekends. It is said that Graubünden can now be reached directly from Romandy.
The offer for train travel abroad is also being expanded. You can now take the night train to Prague via Leipzig and Dresden. Space on other night trains to Hamburg (D), Berlin, Vienna and Graz (A) will be gradually expanded. There are also more direct trains between Zurich and Stuttgart (D).
Commuter traffic has improved
Demand for suburban traffic has also recovered significantly since the beginning of the year after the Corona crisis. That is why the planned aid trains between Zurich-Bern and Zurich-Lucerne are running again in the morning and evening. There is also relief between Zurich and Arth-Goldau SZ. SBB wants to gradually reverse the cancellation of individual trains. (be)
