Elon Musk bought Twitter. Then he fired the CEO and made himself the boss. He now suddenly states that he does not want to be the CEO of any company.
That’s what he claims in a lawsuit about the massive bonus package at Tesla on Wednesday. Musk is the CEO of several companies. Including Twitter, which it most recently bought for $44 billion.
“He doesn’t want to be the CEO of a company”
“Obviously I don’t want to be the CEO of a company,” Musk said in court. The self-proclaimed “technical” statement was surprising.
“I hope to reduce my time on Twitter and finally find someone else to run Twitter,” he explains.
He’s also trying to explain to the court why he doesn’t like being a CEO. According to The Verge, he says: “At SpaceX, I’m really responsible for the rocket technology and at Tesla for the car technology that made it successful.”
The richest person in the world considers himself an engineer
The richest man in the world interrupts: “So the CEO is often seen as a business-focused role, but in reality my role is more than just an engineer who develops technologies and enables us to develop breakthrough technologies. It’s a team of incredible engineers who can achieve these goals.”
At the heart of the process is the question of whether Musk’s action to pay a billion-dollar bonus from Tesla in 2017 is legal. Court history reveals even more exciting details. It seems that Musk no longer wants to be CEO of Tesla.
Musk chooses Tesla’s successors
According to James Murdoch (49), a former Tesla board member, Musk has already decided on his successor as Tesla CEO. It was not made public who it was. (EU)
