The power vacuum in the box giant quickly filled. Sports manager Oliver Mintzlaff (47) has replaced Dietrich Mateschitz († 78), as announced a few days ago. It’s making headlines right now: Before his death, the Red Bull boss apparently had employees’ payrolls filled a little more than usual.
The Red Bull empire is estimated at $50 billion. About half of that belonged to Mateschitz. About 2,000 employees of the company, headquartered in Fuschl am See, Austria, received a small portion of it. As employees reported to “Salzburger Nachrichten”, there was a bonus of $3,000 in addition to his October salary.
One employee: “That’s it”
“Of course we are very happy with that,” says an employee of the newspaper. Another employee adds that the “inflation bonus” was transferred this week. “He’s said to have made the decision before he died. That’s how he was, boss.”
Details of Mateschitz’s latest bonus were not available from Red Bull, but the company has confirmed the media reports.
If you add up the number of buyers and the bonus amount, the result is a regular amount: $6 million. But compared to the wealth and values Mateschitz has created in his life, that’s not wise. (euro)
