Carsten Koerl (58) was named Swiss Entrepreneur of the Year 2022 in the “Services and Business” category. International consulting firm Ernst & Young (EY) thus honors the long-standing corporate career of the Sportradar boss. “I am incredibly honored to receive this prestigious award,” Koerl said in a press release. Sportradar is only at the beginning of the journey.
st. Gallen-based company provides data on sports betting and tries to track down betting scammers. Sportradar also collects sports data and distributes digital content. Koerl has been running the company since it was founded in 2001 because he realized that in sports, no one can provide accurate data. Since then it has been collecting real-time sports data for sports clubs, media houses, bookmakers and sports organizations. Sportradar is currently listed on the American stock exchange and employs approximately 3,500 people worldwide. Sportradar’s investors include basketball legend Michael Jordan (59).
