Lieseberg amusement park is on fire.

A massive fire broke out at Sweden’s largest amusement park on Monday. The fire service said the flames had spread to a new attraction at the Liseberg theme park in Gothenburg that had not yet opened. Buildings were in flames and a huge cloud of black smoke hung over the town. Emergency services called on citizens to stay at home and keep windows and doors closed. Police reported that surrounding buildings were evacuated.

The cause of the fire is not clear at this time. According to theme park management, the fire broke out outside Oceana Waterworld’s new attraction and quickly engulfed the entire building. The water park is part of the expansion planned to open this year. (AFP)
