Although women are almost as well represented as men in non-executive positions, their share in senior management is only just over one-fifth. Inequality is rising at every level of government. This is the Advance association and St. This is the conclusion reached by the “Gender Intelligence Report” prepared by the University of St. Gallen.
There are still 37 percent of women in the lowest management, 29 percent in lower management and 24 percent in middle management. Those responsible for the research explain this with the strict norms of society.
However, positive developments are also observed. The proportion of women at the top level increased by three percentage points to 22 percent between 2022 and 2023. Promotions and new appointments were made in favor of women at the lowest and middle management levels.
The “Gender Intelligence Report” was published for the seventh time in 2023. The analysis is based on anonymised data from approximately 400,000 employees in more than 100 companies and organizations in Switzerland. (SDA)
