Inflation is not a problem in public transport: prices have remained stable for the seventh year in a row, despite inflation. Alliance Swiss Pass wrote in a statement that only a few tourism companies are planning price adjustments.
From 2023, a credit subscription based on “public transport credit” will be available, which has been tested in a market test. Travelers use a certain amount of credits to purchase at a discounted price. This credit can then be used to pay for a 12-month period when purchasing a personal single ticket.
In the youth spectrum, “significant changes” will be introduced gradually from next spring. The statement from the public transport sector organization includes both price reductions and new offers and will be communicated when the time comes.
Traveling with a dog and bike becomes easier
As of the tariff change on December 11, a separate customer group will be created for bicycles and dogs. This will make buying tickets much easier: in the future you can choose whether you are traveling with your bike or with your dog, and the sales system will give the cheapest ticket. Also, only links where self-loading of bikes is possible are automatically displayed.
Self-loading of bicycles will also be greatly expanded and largely correspond to the GA validity area. Operational restrictions reserved. Here the prices remain the same. Introduced last December, the dog passport is now also available as a monthly subscription.
European trips are getting more expensive
The “Railplus” discount card will be removed when the schedule changes. This made it possible to travel 15 percent cheaper in international passenger transportation. The card will be withdrawn from sale across Europe next year. (SDA/koh)
