Louis Vuitton is the main brand of the world’s largest luxury group, LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy). So far, the brand is known for leather goods, clothes, shoes, accessories, jewelry, watches, perfumes and decorative objects.

The Louis Vuitton brand will also represent luxury hotels starting from 2026. There has been speculation on this issue for a long time, but now it is certain. The first Louis Vuitton hotel is currently being built in the heart of Paris, at 103-111 Champs-Elysées, right next to the flagship store of the same brand.

Currently, the building envelope alone is astounding: The street side of the building is covered in a massive installation made of wood and aluminum, a replica of Louis Vuitton’s famous monogram suitcase.

LVMH has experience in the luxury hotel industry

Originally, the building, with annual rent expected to be around 60 million euros, was planned to house a new headquarters and flagship store for LVMH subsidiary Dior. Those plans fell through, but Louis Vuitton has now built its first hotel.

There aren’t many details about this yet. The only thing known is that the historical building was built as a hotel in 1898 and the famous spy Mata Hari (1879–1917) was arrested here in 1917. In the ultra-luxury segment, rooms, restaurants, spa and inner courtyard are expected to be built on 6 thousand square meters. We are talking about room rates starting from 10,000 euros per night, with higher prices in the luxury suite segment.

The hotel industry is already a lucrative business for the LVMH Group, which is majority-owned by the Arnault family around boss Bernard Arnault (74, private assets around 175 billion euros). The group includes five hotels belonging to the ultra-luxury Cheval Blanc brand, one of which is also in Paris, and 13 hotels under the Bulgari brand. The portfolio also includes 32 hotels of the luxury Belmond chain, including Hotel Cipriani (I) in Venice, Hotel Splendido (I) in Portofino, Cadogan in London, Copacabana Palace and Napasai in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). In Koh Samui (Thailand).
