Europa-Park in Rust (D) is preparing for the upcoming summer season. This requires serious investments. All in all, the theme park spends a high double-digit million on the construction industry alone. The biggest project is a new roller coaster. In addition, two railways are planned to be reconstructed and put into operation.
“Voltron Nevera”: This is the name of the roller coaster that will be the new main attraction at the beginning of the season. Voltron should be in Croatia’s new subject area. The 14th run at Europa-Park can accelerate trains like a catapult, up to four times the speed of up to 90 km/h.
When it opened, the ride held the record for the fastest acceleration sections of a roller coaster in Europe. Also planned is a 2.2-second upside-down stage in weightlessness and the world’s steepest takeoff at 105 degrees.
Other investments include the reconstruction of two attractions “Alpenexpress Enzian” and “Tiroler Wildwasserbahn”. They fell victim to a fire in Europa Park in June 2023.
Cable cars are especially popular with families. The rides unfold in a new, rocky mountain landscape that includes towering waterfalls, suspension bridges and climbing elements, according to the park’s media office.
In total, more than 40 construction projects are ongoing in Europa-Park. Among other things, a new fire station for the amusement park’s factory fire department. The new projects will create employment for approximately 120 people. The owner of the amusement park, Roland Mack (74), is looking forward to reopening: “We are entering the new year with great optimism and launching a comprehensive initiative for the future.”
