“Global threats are pushing the limits of adaptation,” the WEF warns in a report published Wednesday, just days before the opening of the annual WEF meeting in Davos, GR, where nearly 1,500 experts and decision-makers are working on it.
Nearly a third of these experts think the likelihood of a global catastrophe will become increasingly likely in the next two years. That’s how two-thirds see it for the next decade.
The top four threats are those related to the environment. According to experts, unlike political threats, whose danger tends to decrease, technological and social threats are considered to be increasingly greater.
In the short term, disinformation is seen as the biggest threat, especially when combined with social unrest. This situation will increase even more as elections approach in major countries such as the USA and Russia in the near future.
Only fifth on the threat scale are interstate conflicts such as the war in Ukraine and the current Middle East conflict.
