Blick reader Tom R.* (38) from Wittenbach SG actually delivered his Christmas presents early. Ordered at the end of November. But nothing came until December 21. «I was really angry. They would make great gifts,” says R. in his interview with Blick.

At the end of November, he ordered personalized necklaces with photographs and engravings for his wife and two children from the website www.drawelry.de, as well as a photo puzzle made of building blocks. There’s also a necklace for his son Gotti. Pays by credit card – everything costs almost 120 euros.

Definitely not a German company

“I was told the items would arrive by Christmas,” said a Blick reader. The goods were shipped on December 6; She also received a tracking number via email. By then R. had assumed it was a German company. The email also says “Germany with Drawers” in capital letters.

When he tracks the shipment with the tracking number, he clearly understands that the goods came directly from China. And it’s still there. Last tracking time is December 11th.

R. came across the online store through Facebook. There she took an advertisement for the photo puzzle. With thousands of likes and 130 comments, she wasn’t thinking anything bad.

However, when looking at the Trustpilot rating platform, a different picture emerges. 93 percent of 69 reviews give it just one star. One user said, “Unfortunately, this company is a complete rip-off!” he writes. A few more negative comments were added in November and December. Tom R. probably isn’t the only one waiting in vain for Christmas gifts.

It is not an isolated case

On the store’s website, it says that the jewelry is 100 percent handmade. “Unfortunately, there are always such fraudulent online stores that sell goods, for example, from China and do not accept any liability if they are not delivered or if the information in the online store does not correspond to reality,” says e-commerce expert Alexandra Scherrer ( 32 ), Managing Director of Carpathia. You should always learn more about the online store before making a purchase. For example, the store from which Tom R. ordered does not have a stamp, but it will be mandatory.

“Until today I was hoping the gifts would still arrive,” the reader said. Because he would rather have that than get the money back. It’s questionable whether he can get it back. But he is already in contact with his bank: “They said there was a chance.” With his contribution to Blick, R. wants above all to warn others. In the meantime, he also bought other Christmas gifts for his loved ones.
