Flu season is here again. And with it the coronavirus. More people get Covid again on cold days. The Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) even talks about a new wave. Therefore, pharmacies and pharmacies are in demand again.

Because people who cough and are sick are increasingly getting themselves tested for Corona. They want to know what’s bothering them. This is especially true for older people and risk groups – keyword Long Covid. However, when buying, it is useful to look closely at the price, as a careful user points out X. Not all pharmacies charge the same amount for self-tests.

One pharmacy stands out

A pack of five self-tests from the Newgene brand at Amavita costs 6.95 francs online. Dr. Their pharmacy Bähler charges slightly more for the same product: 7.90 francs. TopPharm pharmacies in particular stand out negatively due to their prices. The pharmacy chain charges 19.80 francs for five self-tests. This is about the same as during the pandemic and more than double what the competition is charging, as the current competitive price comparison shows.

TopPharm-Apotheke is a cooperative of pharmacies. “Accordingly, we do not generally provide price specifications because our pharmacies are independent companies and are responsible for setting their own prices,” the office spokesperson said when asked by Blick.

As you can see in the picture, I bought Green. This place is located in Thun. There are more than a hundred cooperatively owned pharmacies throughout Switzerland. It is quite possible that there will be the same number of different prices for self-tests.
