McDonald’s, the country’s best burger roaster, is shifting into high gear. It wants to open six new restaurants in the future, instead of the current two new restaurants per year. No wonder the Swiss love burgers and fries. The hunger for fast food cannot be curbed.

“We are increasing the number of openings to 5-6 per year. “Even in the cities,” McDonald’s Swiss boss Lara Skripitsky said in an interview with CH Media newspapers. US chain Five Guys dares to jump over Röstigraben. From Western Switzerland we head to German-speaking Switzerland for the first time, Landquart GR. The restaurant is scheduled to open in early 2024. Then it’s time to hop over to Zurich, where the burger competition is particularly fierce.

Five Guys branches look like classic 1950s diners. The chain wants to impress with fresh ingredients. The menu primarily includes burgers and fries, hot dogs and sandwiches.
