Ten percent growth: Porsche sells more cars

Sales increased in almost all regions of the world but fell in China, the most important auto market. 60,748 cars were delivered there. This corresponds to a decrease of around 12 percent. This was said to be mainly due to the ongoing difficult economic situation in this region.

The number of vehicles delivered in Germany increased by a good 19 percent from January to September. The company, which is majority owned by the Volkswagen Group, sold about 23 percent more cars in the rest of Europe. Porsche does not provide a separate figure for Switzerland, but statistics from the Auto-Schweiz import association show that Porsche purchases have also increased significantly in this country. 16 percent more new Porsches were registered compared to the previous year.

Sales increased 14 percent in North America and 23 percent in overseas and growing markets. “In times of global economic uncertainty, we particularly benefit from our highly balanced global sales structure,” said sales manager Detlev von Platen.

Especially the classic 911 sports car is very popular. The automaker sold 27 percent more of this model. The compact SUV Macan was also highly appreciated, with an increase of 15 percent. The fully electric Taycan, whose sales have been weakening recently, also sold better: The number of vehicles delivered increased by 11 percent to 27 thousand 885.
