Restructuring at milk processor: Outsourcing at Cremo could affect 50 employees

The transfer of the “secondary activity” to a specialist Swiss transport company is being examined, the company Cremo from Villars-sur-Glâne announced on Wednesday. The tender appeals to eight national companies and covers all transports except milk collection transports, which are examined separately.

The tender includes, among other things, special conditions to protect the interests of the personnel involved. It was stated that the decision whether transportation will remain domestic or will be provided externally will be made in November.

If the outsourcing option is chosen, the selected company will begin to take over transportation activities in the first quarter of 2024. The company stated that 50 people work in transporting the final products to customers and are spread across locations in Villars-sur-Glâne FR, Le Mont-sur-Lausanne VD and Sierre VS.

In order to protect affected employees, the tender requires that they be hired and continue to work for at least one year under the applicable terms of the Cremo collective bargaining agreement. According to the communiqué, the storage and preparation areas of outgoing goods in the three locations will not be affected by any outsourcing.

As a reminder: the Cap 2027 program started at the beginning of 2023. He aims to get the company fit within the next four years. The program is also expected to save 23 million francs.
