Swiss pilots want to go on strike if talks with Swiss CEO Dieter Vranckx (50) fail. Airline captains demand a better balance between their work and private lives. And a better fee. They threaten that all machines will be down by the end of October to give weight to this demand.

The company announced that the fleet strength of the 81 aircraft planned for 2023 will be reduced by five initially. The planned creation of at least 200 additional jobs in the cockpit and cabin at Eurowings Germany will be stopped immediately.
Temporary contracts only
But that’s not all: pilots currently in training only get temporary contracts. The company said all promotions to captain will be stopped as demand dwindles.
In a bitter collective bargaining dispute, the Vereinigung Cockpit pilots union and management fight for help for the pilots. On Tuesday, again, many machines remained on the ground.
14 additional days off
Among other things, the union demands 14 additional vacation days. Management recently offered ten. In an open letter to the workforce on Monday, management threatened to withdraw the offer if the strike continued.
