Following EDA’s warning: All trips from Switzerland to Israel are canceled

The escalation in Israel is also having an impact on the Swiss travel industry. After the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs (EDA) issued a travel warning, travel agencies are working to send tourists back to their countries.

At the request of the AWP news agency, a Hotelplan Suisse spokesman wrote that they were in contact with customers in Israel. Everyone affected is in good condition and we are currently working to return home early. We are in contact with various airlines.

According to information obtained, Switzerland canceled all flights to and from Israel until Monday. According to the airline’s website, decisions regarding the upcoming flight schedule will be made immediately.

Free cancellation

Tui Suisse also says they are in contact with customers to organize return journeys. In principle, we also recommend “avoiding existing travel plans,” as a spokesperson said upon request. Trips to Israel are not possible at this time and will be cancelled.

Hotelplan now offers free trip cancellation or alternatives to all passengers with a departure date of up to 31 October. Media spokesman Markus Flick said there were no reports of Kuoni being a guest at the property. A customer has been rebooked but no departures are planned in the coming days.

Keeping in touch with travelers in Israel

Group tour operator Kultour, which specializes in Israel among other topics, also refers to the EDA’s recommendations on its home page and, according to the information obtained, initially canceled all trips with planned departures to the country until Wednesday, October 25.
