Head of Investments Christel Rendu de Lint and Head of Asset Management Georg Schubiger will take over the management of the traditional Zurich private bank as co-CEOs at the beginning of 2024. The board decided this as part of the professional succession process, according to a statement released Tuesday.

The duo will continue to lead their existing fields as well as their new roles. As part of the appointment, Schubiger will also be appointed to the Vontobel Holding Executive Committee as of January 1, 2024. Appointments are still subject to regulator approval.

Vontobel had already announced last May 2023 that after 22 years at Vontobel, including 20 years as a member of the board of directors and 12 years as CEO, Zeno Staub wanted to resign from his position at the next general meeting to be held on April 9, 2024. the last one. He wants to become more involved in Swiss civil society and is running for Member of the National Assembly “Die Mitte” in the canton of Zurich. Until then, it will be available to new co-CEOs for professional succession.

At the same time, Vontobel announced that Marko Röder will soon leave his position as head of the Asset Management division. Röder informed the board that “for personal reasons” he would like to leave his current position next year and take on another role within or outside Vontobel. In 2021, he took over the management of the asset management department, which is important for Vontobel.
