There was initially no reaction from the American automaker Tesla to the allegations in the statement of claim published on Thursday.
According to the EEOC’s lawsuit, racial slurs were spoken openly in the production halls of Tesla’s main factory in Fremont, California. Although superiors realized this, they did not intervene.
Doodles containing racist slogans and swastikas were also found in elevators and toilets, among other things. The EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission) is responsible for enforcing laws against employment discrimination.
A California authority also took action against Tesla with similar allegations. At the trial, the jury decided that Tesla should pay more than $3 million in compensation to its former black employee for racial slurs he was subjected to in 2015.
