Good news for all Migros employees: The retailer is increasing the wage bill for 2024 by up to 2.5 percent. As Migros announced on Thursday, it compensates for inflation. Inflation in Switzerland was 1.6 percent in August and 3.3 percent in January.
The orange giant, together with its social partners, agreed to increase wages by 2.1 to 2.5 percent. Negotiations will be held until the end of October on how high the wage increases will be on a company basis for companies subject to L-GAV. Anyone who increases their wages by less than 2.2 percent will have to make an additional one-off payment to their employees.
Internal and external social partners, the national commission of the Migros Group (LaKo), the Swiss Trade Association and the Swiss Butchery Personnel Association, with whom Migros continues to write, are satisfied with the outcome of the negotiations.
Employees subject to L-GAV also receive “generous” pension fund contributions. Two-thirds of this is covered by employer Migros. Employees also enjoy additional benefits such as loyalty bonuses and additional Cumulus points.
