Swisscom customers were unable to access the internet on Tuesday morning. More than 8,000 reports of technical faults have been received at Swisscom via Alletreib.ch since 7.40am. Reports of outages came primarily from economic hubs such as Zurich, Basel, Bern and Lucerne, where disruption to commuter traffic was particularly noticeable.
You could no longer connect to the internet, access emails or send WhatsApp messages on your mobile phone. At home, connecting to the Swisscom network even via landline in the home office did not work.
“Internet via landline and mobile networks is currently affected throughout Switzerland,” Swisscom wrote on its website. However, emergency numbers were not affected by the outage.
Swisscom’s internet outage lasted almost 50 minutes. The problem was solved again around 08.30 in the morning. «The Internet is fully usable again. We apologize for the inconvenience.” At Blick’s request, efforts are being made to clarify the reason for the interruption. (bab/uro)
