Coop is recalling several trout products as a precaution. Products may contain Listeria. There is a potential health hazard and it is recommended that the products not be consumed. The recall affects 13 products purchased between now and August 21, 2023. These include the cheap Prix Guaranteed fish, an ASC trout smoked with horseradish foam for 42 francs a kilo. Or the expensive gourmet fish plate for 117 francs.
Sales of the affected products have already been blocked. The products are available for sale in Coop supermarkets, Coop City stores, Coop.ch, Coop Pronto stores and Jumbo hardware stores. Previously purchased products can be returned to points of sale. Coop wrote in his statement that the sales price would be refunded.
Two trout crops were affected at Denner. As part of the self-check, Listeria was detected in 100 grams of ASC smoked trout fillet (2.40 francs each) and ASC peppered trout fillet (2.40 francs each).
Listeria can have health consequences. In individual cases, flu-like symptoms (fever, headache, nausea) may occur after consuming the product. Pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems who experience the described symptoms are recommended to consult a doctor immediately.
