The head of the Swiss Export Association said in an interview published Tuesday on blick.ch that increased regulation is forcing small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) to constantly check their data and track processes seamlessly. He said that artificial intelligence’s international customs formalities will turn the business world upside down.
When asked why small and medium-sized companies are hesitant to deal with the technology of the future, he said, “If there are new tools, it will take a while for them to become widespread.” “AI is like a sudden tsunami.”
Many things have already been invented, proven, and of course will be further developed, Moerker said. However, he was convinced that AI would optimize processes along the entire value chain.
When asked if he expects AI to lose his jobs, Moerker gave a evasive answer. “As in many places, there will be a change. IT knowledge will become more important.”
