Everything you can’t clean in the dishwasher!

Sneakers or toys get dirty quickly and are difficult to clean. You can put many things in the dishwasher to get them clean again.

Does only a little water drip from the shower while showering? Then the shower head may be calcified and dirty. However, caustic chemicals can attack and damage the materials. It is easier and gentler to put the shower head in the dishwasher. Dirt and lime are dissolved at high temperatures.

In the summer we sweat mainly in our heads. Unsightly sweat stains quickly form on caps and hats. Although you can also wash the visor cap in the washing machine, there is a risk that the visor will bend during the spin cycle. Instead, place the baseball cap in the dishwasher – without any dishes. This ensures that the headgear is clean again quickly.

While there is some debate about whether sneakers should look clean or worn, summer shoes are definitely safe to wash in the dishwasher. This not only removes dirt, but also prevents sweat from forming strong-odorous bacteria that could potentially lead to athlete’s foot.

At high temperatures, on the beach or in the sauna, they are a must-have: slippers. But road dirt and the like quickly get stuck in the airy footwear and cause the summer colors to fade. If the slippers are plastic or rubber, it may help to run them through the dishwasher, but do so without the dishes. The same goes for rubber boots.

Please note: If you have slippers made of other materials or shoes with an inner lining, you should only clean them with a cloth. Too much water and high temperatures can otherwise cause the material to sponge.

Children, especially toddlers, like to put everything in their mouths. To ensure that their toys are at least clean, regularly put buckets, toy figures and rattles in the dishwasher if they are made of plastic. However, with some products you need to pay attention to the temperature settings. For example, doll hair breaks if the temperature is too high.

Bello’s drool-filled ball or Büsi’s toy mouse hidden in the garden: dog and cat toys can be cleaned in the dishwasher just as well as bowls and drinking bowls. After washing, the accessories look clean again. However, for hygienic reasons, you should not have dirty dishes washed.

Sounds strange, but it makes work easier, especially with large quantities, and also saves water: you can simply put potatoes, peppers and apples in the dishwasher. However, make sure you avoid detergent and tablets here! As a side effect, the food is immediately steam cooked. This saves additional time and energy.

Repotting, weeding and sowing: Gardening leaves visible marks not only in the garden and on clothing. Soil, resin and pollen also stick to shovels, hoes and the like. Do you still have to clean these devices after intensive gardening? A horror for many. So it’s better to put everything in the dishwasher.

But be careful: you obviously have to remove most of the dirt first.

We touch them several times a day: keys. Viruses and dirt quickly stick to it, especially after taking out the trash, riding the bus, or working in the garden. Keychains become real viruses. After a run through the dishwasher, your keys and pendants will be germ-free again and shine with renewed vigor.

For a sparkling, clean smile, brush your teeth at least twice a day. To maintain oral hygiene, it is also important to regularly replace the brush every three months. Frayed bristles not only damage the gums, but are also an ideal breeding ground for food particles, bacteria and germs. However, if you are disgusted by your toothbrush utensils after just a few weeks, you can simply put brushes and tongue scrapers in the dishwasher.

Dandruff and dust remain in the hair and also in the comb after brushing. So that you don’t spread this dirt back into your hair when combing, simply put the brushes in the dishwasher. The same also applies to hair clips, hair clips and hair elastics. However, don’t forget to remove the hair from the bristles first. Otherwise it will clog the sieve.

They are real viruses: keyboards. Although you can occasionally remove light dirt with a cloth, a lot of dirt still remains between the keys. So that you do not have to laboriously clean all the keys individually with an old toothbrush, you can simply disassemble the keyboard and have the robust parts cleaned in the dishwasher. To ensure that subsequent reassembly does not become a problem, it is best to take a photo of your keyboard before taking it apart. This way you know which key belongs in which lock.
