Bern Island Hospital management needs to improve communication

The top management of Bern University Hospital Insel has communicated poorly in recent years, which has caused unrest in the company. This is the conclusion of the Audit Committee of the Cantonal Parliament of Bern.

About two years ago, workers on the island criticized the new structures and a new reward system. They made accusations against the management of the university hospital.

The Grand Council Audit Commission (GPK) investigated the matter. She comes to the conclusion that the hospital had no choice but to reposition itself structurally and financially. However, according to the committee’s opinion, communication and the maintenance of corporate culture were inadequate.

The committee recommended that the government council use its influence over Insel Gruppe AG and ensure that communication improves. (sda)
