In the capital, the markets of Moscow Fashion Week, which took place at the end of April in 7 shopping centers in Moscow, ended: Europolis shopping center (Rostokino), Metropolis shopping center, Oceania shopping center, Paveletskaya Plaza. mall, Riviera Mall, SEC “Good!” and SEC VEGAS Crocus City.

About 300 Russian womenswear designers, as well as 70 accessory brands, as well as footwear and men’s brands, participated in the markets. Some residents of the markets were presented as part of the Moscow Spring festival at the market on Tverskoy Boulevard.

We spoke to several brands involved to find out what they think about the prospects for the Russian fashion business.

Eco-friendly designers of unisex brands Chumbleywhich creates clothing and accessories from recycled plastic, has seen a growing audience interest in Russian brands amid the withdrawal of many Western brands from the market.

“On the streets of cities, you can increasingly see people dressed in local brands, the quality of which is no worse than their foreign counterparts. However, the fashion industry in Russia is now in its infancy, and mass replacement will take a long time,” says the brand’s designer, Ekaterina Zhizhina.

“The main value of the market is communication with customers and brand representatives. We got to know our viewers, listened to their comments and wishes. Colleagues in the workshop shared their cases, we discussed the nearest plans and possible collaborations,” adds the designer.

Sophia Bugera (mar BOOMER) from Moscow presented at the markets a collection dedicated to the new reality, ways to express yourself and stand out from the crowd.

She also noted that with the departure of foreign brands, Russian consumers became more interested in domestic manufacturers.

As part of the Moscow Fashion Week markets, there were also consultations with make-up artists and hair stylists, as well as personal stylists and image stylists giving excellent advice to visitors on how to create a wardrobe.
