Fashion’s 8 invisible enemies of your style

It happens that you have thoroughly thought out your way out, but one annoying little thing that was not at all part of your fashion plans took away and spoiled the overall impression of a beautiful you. A common situation? We have collected 8 invisible enemies of your style and invite you to carefully study them and deal with them!

Shoulders out in sweaters and pullovers

This little thing will cause a lot of questions from others about the model of your sweater and whether someone pulled your shoulders. This is due to cheap plastic hangers that are not designed for things that can be pulled out.

Problem solving. It is very easy to avoid such a problem – store woolen things in a folded state or spend money on a good hanger of the right shape.

Hanging loops for hangers

Yes, yes, we are talking about those very “invisible” loops for hanging clothes on a hanger. Unfortunately, these generally useful devices tend to pop up in the most inconvenient situations—such as a first date or an interview. It looks sloppy and distracts from your image. Additionally, these loops can ruin the fit of some things.

Problem solving. Cut them mercilessly and get textured hangers to keep your clothes from slipping.

The belt that was part of the dress

The problem with these belts is that they don’t exist. Most often (especially in cases with mass market items) the manufacturer does not take the design and quality of such belts seriously. Therefore, they tend to be thin and seemingly disposable, which makes them look cheap and spoil the overall impression of your outfit.

Problem solving. Just replace such a strap with a really high-quality and beautiful strap. Don’t skimp on it – a good belt will come in handy more than once.

No heels on shoes

Your favorite shoes lost their heels a few weeks ago, but you still wear them to work even though you “click” the heels all the way up? Congratulations – the attention of those around you is guaranteed, but definitely don’t expect enthusiasm. Many people believe that this is a sign that your shoes are worn out.

Problem solving. The easiest and most obvious is to take your shoes to a workshop where they will put heels on your heels for a small fee.

Side loops on the dress

Another loop that you don’t need at all and can easily ruin any look with its stupid appearance. Their main function is to hold said “packaged” belt or sash in place while the dress hangs on a hanger in the store.

Problem solving. Just cut them off. You already know where your passport is and where to fasten your seat belt, right?

Stitched hems of outerwear

Most jackets, jackets, trench coats and coats have the back hem stitched in an X. This is dictated by the manufacturer’s desire to avoid ugly folds, creases and tears in the process of transporting things from the factory to the point of sale. In life, such lines look ugly.

Problem solving. Stretch these lines and carefully iron the thing. You yourself will immediately notice how her appearance will change for the better.

crumpled things

Are creases in clothes a part of life? Yes, but only if they appeared after a long day. But in the eyes of others, staying in wrinkled clothes all the time will make you a lazy person who does not know how to iron.

Problem solving. First, sort through your wardrobe and get rid of the bad habit of randomly throwing clothes in the closet. Second, make friends with the steamboat.

Brand marks on the sleeves or any other prominent place

Brands (designer name) intentionally visible on clothing have long been considered bad form. And such labels, in turn, have a rather practical function – it is more advantageous for clothing manufacturers to pack clothing when the brand is marked on the outside. You don’t need those labels.

Problem solving. Yes, yes, you guessed right – scissors will save you again. Don’t think twice before cutting them off.

Oh no! I live in the capital and I keep seeing people who don’t remove the sticker from their cheap sunglasses! no comment…

In general, I agree with the author) it is necessary to purchase new sharp scissors))

I can’t bear to be a “walking advertisement” for the manufacturer for my money, so I either choose an item without a label in a conspicuous place, or cut it off on the first day. I also consider inscriptions à la “Dolce-Gabano” or “Chanel” to be vulgar – they look flashy and cheap, regardless of the actual price. I agree with the article, I would add another point about sewn “decorations” – only if you cut off the labels and choose an individual decoration. And about the “popular” low-rise jeans that reveal the underwear for all to see)

Yes, the advice is controversial)))) recently they immediately read that displaying labels is back in fashion and the bigger the better…. Something like that.

You can really argue with the belt for the dress. My situation is just the opposite – the dress had a wide belt in a contrasting color. In the color of the dress, I changed it to thin, it looks much better.

The slot is the fold itself. And not the threads connecting its edges. The slit is needed to ensure freedom of movement, or as a decor, a properly sewn slit is obviously superfluous 🙂

A fashion editor needs to be a little smarter The “stitched hems” of a jacket are called vents. And cut loops will look much more untidy because. any tissue cut will crumble and the overall picture will be even worse!!! You do NOT have to cut them yourself, this is generally a detail of the product. You don’t cut the collar if you don’t like it!!!And it’s also debatable with straps!!!Doubtful advice!!!

And don’t forget to peel off the price tags and any other stickers from the soles of the shoes!!!!)))))

Since growing up, I have a kind of inexplicable dislike for labels, I constantly get rid of them in prominent places or do not buy such clothes at all (if, for example, the brand logo is embroidered)

Ori Akuma August 27, 2015, 09:50 am
By the way, I liked the thin belt in this example much better!)

Anna Zinyukhina August 26, 2015, 10:52 am
belts can be argued about … the photo example is not good with a “gift” belt on a white dress – a thin one looks much neater and more beautiful

And just the other day it occurred to me that the belt loop on my bulky top smells cheap, it should be cut. And then there is this article! Thanks, helpful tips!
