If you have a whole set of poorly bought t-shirts at home that you only wear under a sweater or sweatshirt, this mini-tutorial is definitely for you. Because choosing a really good T-shirt – perfect, as the stylists say – is a really difficult process. And it is full of pitfalls.
So today we’re going to look at 4 things you need to be careful about when trying them on – only if you follow them all, you’ll find that great basic t-shirt that you won’t want to part with.
The first thing to check is the cutout. If the “crescent” is located directly under the throat, the neck will lose a few centimeters in length or even simply disappear. The round neckline should therefore be pulled lower so that the shoulders and not just the neck are slightly visible.
The V-neckline is suitable for girls who want to balance a voluminous bust or hips – this shape stretches the silhouette a bit. However, the boat neckline is suitable only for women of fashion with small breasts and a rather tight figure – this form can slightly expand the silhouette, so you should be careful with it.
Another stumbling block is the length. We don’t need extra long models that look like nightgowns, or conversely t-shirts with “undercoat”. If the first ones can still be styled in an interesting way (for example, they are worn with a very short skirt, from under which the edge of the T-shirt peeks out), then the second one simply makes the figure square.
By the way, a very important detail is the shade of your t-shirt. All colors can be divided into warm and cool, and the palette in general may suit you, but the undertone of a particular item may not.
Therefore, you need to keep track of which clothes suit you best – is it “warm” or “cold”? Even if we are talking about a white top, there will be at least five variants and they must be counted on. It only seems complicated, but in reality you will immediately see if, for example, bluish white will not make your face unhealthy – you can tell.
Last but not least is the sleeve length. It’s a shame when everything is perfect in a t-shirt, but the hands still look massive in it – even if in reality it’s not quite like that. How to fix everything?
First, take a closer look at the seam line: the sleeve should start 1.5-2 centimeters below the shoulder. Secondly, the sleeve itself should not even reach the arm bend line: this is the most optimal length, which hides the bulky part of the arms and makes the top airy enough to be worn with anything. This is exactly how the perfect t-shirt should work!
