Snake jacket and pink leopard: Crazy movie fashion of the 90s

And perhaps the cult films of this period can be safely considered the best “help” with the fashion of the 90s. We decided to recall the movie hits of that time that cannot be forgotten!

“Wild at Heart”, 1990

Once upon a time, Nicolas Cage did not “mint” terrible roles in equally terrible films, but starred in David Lynch himself, together with the director’s favorite Laura Dern, wearing a snakeskin jacket.

“True Love”, 1993

The main character’s wardrobe as played by Patricia Arquette today is both shocking and joyful: a turquoise bra, pink leggings with a leopard print and a see-through mint top. It’s powerful!

“Natural Born Killers”, 1994

The main characters, played by Woody Harrelson and Juliette Lewis, are insane serial killers whose bloody journey is “supported” by their red clothes.

“Wong Foo, thank you for everything! Julie Newmar, 1995

To brutal Wesley Snipes, Patrick Swayze and John Leguizamo walk around in incredible boas, feathers, wigs, hats and long gloves, you can watch forever. True, we would not advise you to repeat the pictures of these “beauties” (except for Halloween, perhaps).

“Generation DOOM”, 1995

One of the best (and most brutal) films from cult director Greg Araki, who is also remembered for his vivid portrayals of the three main characters. Look “Generation of DOOM Game” stands at least twice – the first time, of course, because of the plot, but the second time – only because of the detailed study of the style of the heroine Rose McGowan. And of course borrow some fashion ideas from her.

“Hackers”, 1995

Heavy boots, intentionally baggy or very tight pants, chains, strange hairstyles and – as a “bonus” – a very young Angelina Jolie with a very short haircut.

“Romeo + Juliet”, 1996

The “modernized” version of the well-known love story with a young Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes in the title roles is interesting not only for the confrontation of two gangs in which the original Italian families “transformed”, but also for its contrasting style. – The Montagues wear unbuttoned colorful shirts and the Capulets wear leather.

“The Fifth Element”, 1997

The film was turned into an art object with the light hand of the creators. Which, of course, is not surprising – Jean-Paul Gaultier himself, the boss enfant terrible of fashion.

“Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas”, 1998

Hawaiian shirts, strange panamas, hats and, of course, the famous yellow glasses of Raoul Duke, played brilliantly by Johnny Depp, are firmly inscribed in both the history of cinema and the history of fashion.

“Fight Club”, 1999

An amazing story, amazing costumes, amazing acting and direction – this was “Fight Club”, which became a real manifesto of the generation that grew up in the 90s. And yes, if you want to dress like a “bad boy,” take a cue from Tyler Durden.
