And why are we all fixated on “The Devil”? Of course, this is a masterpiece and Andrea Sachs is a legend, but there are many other works with the beauty of Anne. For example, “Intern”. Great movie with lots of lessons. A lot, but definitely not style. Or rather irrelevant. Almost all of Jules Austin’s fashion imagery just doesn’t “work” now. And if you suddenly decided to take inspiration from your favorite movie, we have several reasons for you not to do it…
The first picture – and right behind us! For 2015, the combination of a baggy sweater and a miniskirt may have been fashionable, but today such an image is unlikely to be appreciated. Confusing, to say the least, is the ambiguous length of the sweater, which treacherously pulls into a fold on the stomach. Add to that the outdated flared skirt model – minus the waist and hello a few kilos! Not even leopard Louboutins will save the situation. It’s a shame – similar pumps with a sharp shell are still popular.
Again, we bring an important explanation. The images of the heroine are by no means good, they are just not relevant anymore. For us, this is a great opportunity to work on bugs (or even prevent them from happening). Surely a similar jacket has been lost in your wardrobe – guess what? Controversial length and tight cut… In a word – neither here nor there. I would add a slight oversize and slightly enlarged shoulders. Still better than that! We have no questions about color – Ann is coming.
Of course, the jacket looks better here, although it could have been taken a size larger. We look at the pants with suspicion: either this ugly effect with a “caterpillar” in the hips is caused by the fact that the actress keeps her hands in her pockets, or by poor cut – there may be discrepancies. But a denim shirt and outdated open-toe shoes are no good.
The dress on the cover of the movie is really questionable. Trapeze is not the easiest style, which can play a cruel joke with Anna’s beautiful figure. It may not be so noticeable in this photo, but in the film itself, the effect of the “broken” waist is clearly visible: when it is not in place, the proportions look disharmonious. Add low-heeled pumps and the result is shortened legs. And it would be worth picking up a dress a little longer and it would not cause questions.
No, we are not stuffy, but we still have to look for mistakes. At least to the old pea. A maximum of unnecessary pockets and zippers that add extra volume. Sandals with fringes also do not inspire confidence – but Ann’s everyday images are much more harmonious!
