Not for the palace: what rules of the royal dress code Megan Fashion constantly breaks

Royal women should not wear black. Of course, they should have a decent black outfit in case of mourning. And mourning events are the only reason to wear a black dress. Megan loves this color too much and wears it in different situations.

Palace etiquette strictly regulates the depth of the neckline and the degree of openness of the shoulders of evening dresses. And in day clothes, openness is fundamentally unacceptable. Meghan often breaks this rule by wearing dresses and blouses that reveal her arms and shoulders.

According to protocol, all female royals are required to wear flesh-colored thin tights at all times. Bare feet are not acceptable. Meghan, on the other hand, has for years followed the Hollywood habit of avoiding tights and wearing almost all outfits without them.

Worse than the absence of tights can only be black tights for the prince’s wife. True, Kate Middleton constantly neglects this rule. She’s made black tights part of her personal style – and no one is particularly outraged. Maybe because her style is otherwise impeccable.

According to the rules established by Elizabeth II. only translucent shades of flesh and pink are allowed for manicure. The colored varnish does not correspond to the dress code. Megan was also seen with black nail polish.

Royal women must show restraint and moderation in their clothing and jewelry. Three large rings on one hand and even in combination with a bracelet – this is very stylish, but clearly does not correspond to the royal rules.

It is also very important how one should behave in this or that outfit. Hands in pockets at a formal event – this is against all existing rules of etiquette. Maybe Meghan should have given up her pockets to kick the habit.
