On March 5, 2022, the Spanish giant Inditex, which produces brands such as Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Bershka, Stradivarius, Oysho, Zara Home and Uterqüe, announced the closure of its business in Russia. Considering how strongly fashionistas attached themselves to these comfortable and relatively affordable clothing brands, the end of this long fashion romance was painful. But some time passed, instead of closed stores, new stores opened with fresh stylish collections and Russian tags – and after months the question of the return of the “ex” was not raised as often as last March.
In October, Inditex announced the sale of its business to the Daher Group (owned by the Lebanese Azadea Group), which franchises more than 40 huge global brands (Calzedonia, Mango and so on). And now, according to Kommersant, the brands maag, vilet, dub, ecru will open in the spring of 2023 on the site of the former Inditex stores – which brands will be replaced is still unclear, but insiders report that the pricing policy and style of the collections will primarily fit Zara.
In addition, experts indicate that the collection in some brands will even be produced by Inditex itself, but in this case the company will act as a contractor, a creator of clothes – but this is, of course, only a theory.
