4 stereotypes about the main color of 2023: Learn how to wear it correctly Fashion

Pantone’s announcement of the next color of the year is always an event. Some people look for hidden meaning and even predictions of the future in the shadows, while others hastily try to integrate a bright chip into their wardrobe in order to stay out of trends. But if everything was more or less clear with the main color of the previous year – Veri Pery – then tomorrow’s hero is not so simple.

The Color Institute calls Viva Magenta “a traditional red for a non-traditional time” – you can’t say it better. Saturated scarlet with a cold purple undertone looks spectacular and non-banal, but not flashy. It has a strong and royal undertone (perhaps due to the admixture of purple, which is considered a royal shade). “Strong, fearless and inspiring,” concludes Pantone. And it looks like we’ve seen it somewhere before.

Fiery iridescences of scarlet, seductive depth of lilac – this is what is hidden in Viva Magenta and precious stones in MIUZ jewelry, which we love to look at (and can do it for hours). What fashion experts argue about – an unusual undertone, a complex color scheme – jewelers working with rubies and rubellites have long known. So to tame the wild nature of Viva Magenta, we’re going to focus on the ever-beautiful MIUZ Diamonds and learn how to style 2023’s flagship shade by their example.

And therefore, let’s deal with the main stereotypes that prevent girls from wearing Viva Magenta and rubies especially with rubellites.

Demanding

Even if you’re new to jewelry, you can’t help but notice that rubies and rubellites are stones with character. And wild enough, but tame. Yes, red-purple jewelry screams that their lover is an excellent and passionate person, but very feminine and therefore vulnerable. This means that rubies and rubellites themselves are not so arrogant touch.

For example, some believe that these light stones do not harmonize with other colored minerals and require exceptional pavé diamonds and white gold. But this is a prejudice from the past, when it was believed that the only correct way to wear jewelry is to wear the whole set at once, in no case to combine jewelry from one collection with others.

How antiquated is this rule! Now your ability to combine white and yellow gold, garnets and diamonds, rubellites and enamel is just a style indicator – like in this incredible brooch from the MIUZ Diamonds collection. 57 round diamonds, 12 garnets and 8 rubies are arranged in feathers, which in the light convey all the shades and iridescences of the color of the exotic bird.

When you can tear your eyes away from this jewelry miracle (how much do you need, an hour, two?), you will have to admit: rubellite knows how to “make friends” with other colored stones, and this combination looks incomparable. But the minerals in Viva Magenta manage to keep reading fresh even in softer, more traditional forms like this Art Nouveau brooch.

The perfect symmetry of diamond curls is reminiscent of winter lace on windows and the edges of snowflakes – such perfect complex lines can only be found in nature. And that in the incredible composition of MIUZ Diamonds. The oval-cut central rubellite absorbs the rays reflected by the radiant vines, drawing the eye into the depths of Viva Magenta. The brooch itself is an elegant accent, thanks to which the evening will look even more majestic and will add an elegant charm to even everyday outfits. But let’s talk about it further!

Evening

Cause and effect, cause and effect – remember those words in the Matrix that the Merovingian kept repeating? We didn’t just forget the quote of this character: the fact is that the second stereotype has already been half-debunked by the first one. After all, what were we talking about, rubies are said to only require a diamond environment and consequently a special occasion? Not quite right!

Viva Magenta jewelry is of course incomparable at a party, social event and prom – of course in combination with a matching evening dress. Velvet, satin, silk, dramatic black, soft indigo, graphite, beige, platinum – these seem to be the perfect evening company for the perfect evening look in ruby earrings or necklace.

Or let’s go further – make a total look in shades of red. Yes, it is very bold – but how magnificent! The main thing here is not to overdo it with a single color, because Viva Magenta has several variants and you can easily combine them with scarlet, burgundy, berries. For such fashion experiments, we choose a midi skirt, a jacket that matches a few tones, and high boots. And to them – a necklace with a pear-shaped rubellite and a ring with the same stone, but rounded. Notice how the pavé diamonds line up in a soft square? We love this shape game!

Limited by state

Another prejudice that makes life “complicated” for Viva Magenta and jewelry in this juicy color is status restrictions. Like, such jewelry suits ladies rather than young ladies, or they are said to be worn by girls in leadership positions. But neither one nor the other opinion has any basis: there is so much fire and emotion in rubies and rubellites that it is simply unfair to limit them by status. To be honest, there is no limit to them!

It’s all about jewelry “company”: massive rings and necklaces of course suggest evening dress, but lighter and more modern products, as we found out above, are suitable for an everyday elegant look. A perfect example are the romantic yet stylish earrings with 56 round diamonds, 70 baguette diamonds and 12 oval rubies.

Diamonds of different types of cut are combined so finely that from a distance they look like a single mineral – but in reality it is a skillful symbiosis of two forms, thanks to which the jewelry shines even more. And with all the stones, they do not look bulky – on the contrary, it is a visually light and delicate girl’s set.

This diamond and rubellite brooch has a more complex character – it’s not grown-up, but rather pretentious. Relatively complex architecture of decoration with stones of various cuts that resemble a peacock’s tail – luxurious and fresh. At the center of the composition is an impressive cabochon rubellite (about 16 carats) with an incredibly smooth surface. Its subtle noble glow is supported by a play of round and baguette diamonds. The first minerals are responsible for warm flashes, the second for cold reflections, and in this mysterious shimmer rubellite reveals its depth even more.

Love only artificial light

Another misconception about the color Viva Magenta, and by extension rubies and rubellites, is that it is supposedly “unfriendly” to daylight and only glows under artificial lighting. You can consider this stereotype as a continuation of the “evening” one – that these jewels of a bright shade were created exclusively for festive indoor events. Which, as you already know, is not true – raspberry, scarlet, burgundy, berry, fire stones reveal themselves in different ways in different conditions.

For example, let’s look at a set of earrings and a ring with refined rubies. In general, jewelry from this collection – Empire – was created to become family jewelry, and therefore their design is thought out to the smallest detail. Do you think MIUZ Diamonds will allow this incredible luxury to depend on the type of lighting? No matter how!

In terms of style, the jewel resembles the shape of a raspberry: there is a large stone in the middle – in the earrings there are two rubies of ~1.5 carats, in the ring there is an oval ruby weighing 1.67 carats. The minerals are surrounded by two rows of round diamonds that increase towards the edge of the composition. Thanks to this geometry, light refracts clearly in the faces of minerals and spreads to neighboring stones. Radiance multiplies its power and these highlights bring out the ruby inside and out just as brightly.

By the way, the generic name of raspberry sounds like “rubus” – that’s no coincidence! The jewelers at MIUZ Diamonds specifically turn to these natural forms to fully develop the potential of rubies and rubellites and thus their incredible, juicy color – Viva Magenta.
