The sub-zero mark on the thermometer is no longer just a subtle hint, but screams powerfully and most importantly that it is urgently time to fill all the gaps in the warm wardrobe. But here there can be some obstacle: you try on hats in front of the mirror in the store, but for some reason they all look ridiculous – but on the website and in the photo of fashion bloggers, everything is quite decent!
As in the case of glasses, hats, panamas, caps and the like should be chosen taking into account not only personal preferences and trends, but also the shape of the face. Despite the individual characteristics of each person – the shape of the eyes, eyebrows, forehead and jaw line – the proportions fit into the existing framework: oval type, square, triangular, etc.
To find out your face type (if it is difficult for you to visually determine it), measure the line of the forehead, cheekbones and chin with a tape. For example, if the forehead is slightly wider than the jaw and the face tapers slightly towards the chin, this is an oval shape. If the forehead line is much wider than the cheekbones, it is a triangular shape. Everything is simple! And we will explain the rest of the details to you later.
Owner of an oval face, you’ve hit the jackpot: almost all hat models suit you! Be sure to try the most interesting and trendy options of this season – a charming knitted cap (bonnet with ties), a woolen beret, a fur panama hat or a beanie.
We don’t want to get upset, but everything is rarely too good, so there is one caveat: hats with a too high crown (the top or “base” of the headgear), for example, bulky ear flaps, stylists recommend not to choose. With them, the face visually stretches, which can slightly disturb the natural symmetrical features.
Owners of a heart-shaped face are advised to be more careful with the cheekbones and cover the top of the head. A medium weight beanie in your favorite color will do the job well. On particularly cold (and sad) days, the cozy Teddy earflap will be a rescue, reliably covering your ears and forehead from unpleasant wind. When the weather is sunny (finally!), hats complete your look.
If you have a well-defined jawline (cheekbones are clearly visible) and the height and width of your face are almost the same, then you most likely have a square shape. With the help of an accessory directed upwards, it will be easy to visually stretch the features. No magic outside of Hogwarts, just tight silhouettes with no crown accents. A tweed hat or a velvet panama will look especially good, and stylists recommend pulling the beanie up to the eyebrows to draw attention away from the forehead.
Owners of cute faces (and even the same width of the forehead and chin) have one task: to visually “stretch” the face, which means that tight round caps, no matter how fashionable they may be, are contraindicated for us. . But stylish hoods can only “cut” the volume and balance the proportions. The main thing is not to close the forehead too much, otherwise the face will become even more rounded.
diamond shape
The highlight of girls with a diamond-shaped face is a wide line of cheekbones. We definitely do not recommend spending money on thin fabrics that do not hold their shape, but fur and wool will help us – they will create the necessary volume, so we are all for hats with dense knitting and a clear shape. Bright sheepskin hats, caps and berets are your way out!
And again, a trendy hood will help us. It covers the eye-catching chin and visually creates symmetry. And you can also take a closer look at the beanie with tucked edges – this is a fairly universal shape that, depending on the volume, suits most types of faces. And that’s why it simply has to appear in your winter capsule!
