Fashionable 3 fashion mistakes that age women after 45 in autumn and winter: a stylist’s opinion

Fiona is a Parisian graduate of the London School of Style who prides herself on her down-to-earth approach to fashion. She believes that the main thing in her work is to help women not only look elegant, but find comfortable things for them – because this is a guarantee of self-confidence. Fiona herself knows firsthand how important comfort is, as she is a mother of two young children.

The main principle of Fiona is the combination of spectacular things with the “base”. She believes that there are no clothes “for special occasions” – every day girls should feel special, and you should not postpone the opportunity to look great here and now. In a recent interview, Davis said that you should not wear women who want to look younger than their age.

Don’t just dress in fall colors

Fiona loves winter and autumn: “It’s time for chunky boots, smart coats and luxurious layering,” she says. But Davis notes that many of her clients have a hard time forgetting the rules of the summer, so they can’t feel great when the heat turns to cold.

The first mistake women make is that they try to dress exclusively in autumn shades. “No matter how beautiful a burnt orange or moss green is, if you create an outfit only from a wardrobe of those colors, it will look a little dated and the owner will look dated,” says Davis.

To avoid this effect, the stylist advises all her subscribers and clients to “keep” a neutral palette that includes elegant cream, camel and dark blue tones.

Do not wear thick knitted sweaters

If there’s one piece of clothing that epitomizes fall and winter, it’s chunky knit sweaters. However, Fiona believes that such things should be avoided – they rarely flatter the figure and often make it fat, and this, in turn, visually adds age to women.

Instead of thick, warm sweaters, Davis advises opting for “luxe layering”: “It’s a great way to keep out the cold, and it’s also an easy way to add texture, color and prints to your look,” she explains. “Start with a silk top, then throw on a cotton or denim shirt and finish with a sweater or a fine knit sweater.”

According to the stylist, such an outfit, unlike a huge soft sweater, will create slimming diagonals and help you adapt to any situation – you can always get rid of one of the layers if you get hot.

Don’t just wear jeans

Jeans are undoubtedly comfortable, but Fiona is not recommended to limit yourself only to them – denim sometimes looks “too eternal” to visually rejuvenate its owner. Davis sees leather leggings as a great alternative to regular pants. “During the day, they look chic in combination with a thin knitted sweater and chunky boots, and in the evening with heels and a jacket,” says the stylist.
