Shelley Pelley was once a CEO of a large company, but now she has become a stylist and runs a fashion blog called “Annie Parker Confidential” for women over 40.
“I love sharing what I know to help other girls become the best version of themselves,” says Shelley. She talks about fashion, fashion trends, beauty hacks, anti-aging and much more. Recently, the expert made a video in which she explained which dresses are not suitable for a New Year’s party if you are over 40 years old.
These models seem to be a great choice for vacation – you don’t have to go on a diet and torture yourself in the gym to get a perfect silhouette. Bandage dresses have a slimming effect and therefore perfectly correct the flaws of the figure, which is why many women choose this outfit for a New Year’s party.
Shelly thinks it’s not worth it. “Stylish women don’t wear bandage dresses anymore,” she says. “I’m looking at you, Herve Léger!” According to the stylist, the brainchild of the legendary fashion designer who invented the bandage dress has more disadvantages than advantages: it is too tight, too short, too revealing – one continuous “too”!
Such “exaggeration” with skillful work on the image may look good on a young girl, but it will only spoil a mature woman. In addition, bandage dresses are not the most comfortable clothes, and after 40 it is time to understand that you should not sacrifice your comfort for the sake of a beautiful image.
It would seem, what is wrong with this color combination? It occurs all the time in nature, and no one considers a red apple peeking out from the foliage to be ugly. However, Shelley Pelly thinks the two colors are too… New Year’s.
“It’s literally Santa Claus and a Christmas tree,” he says. – Our mothers dressed us in these colors at the age of five. But they will look too childish on a grown woman. The stylist believes that such a contrast will not only emphasize the age of the owner of the dress, but also visually add another 10 years to her.
Unfortunately, very often new kilograms come with age. Sometimes women refuse to notice them and continue to wear dresses with plunging necklines and numerous necklines that reveal the body. Shelly Pelly is sure that it is better to say goodbye to such models – they look cheap and tacky, and who wants to look like that at the most important party of the year?
