Flirting with the weather is officially over. Winter has come and now we need scarves with hats not only as cute accessories – we will thoroughly warm up! And your favorite coat, which did not let you down throughout September and half of October, will soon be helpless, which means that it’s time to get heavy artillery – down jackets and jackets. Blazers certainly don’t look as elegant as coats, but a few touches are enough to make the look of the most ordinary jacket fashionable.
Let’s start with the most obvious trick – to dilute the basic outfit with a bright detail. We usually choose jackets in the most neutral shades possible, so that they can be styled more easily – and then we safely forget about this styling. Gloves, a scarf, a small bag – add some color!
Of course, the easiest way is to put on comfortable jeans and run out of the house, throw a jacket over your shoulders and fasten it in the elevator. But if you just change your pants to a midi skirt, believe me, it won’t affect the speed of your morning preparations and you’ll look stylish. In order not to miss, choose monochrome – this way, a mistake is almost impossible.
And if you can’t change your favorite black turtleneck and matching jeans combo and you’re wearing the same dramatic jacket, try switching up your shoes. Shoes with an interesting, moreover, will change the whole mood – and not only the image, but also yours!
Don’t be afraid of shiny or fluffy outerwear! Yes, it attracts attention, but you deserve it, that’s a fact. In order not to puzzle over what to wear with these seemingly “complicated” jackets, just find them a companion with the same texture. And if you are ready to experiment, then we go the opposite way: we look for matte things in a pair of gloss, smooth accessories for fluffy jackets.
You’ve probably guessed our all-encompassing love of monochrome. And we are ready to talk about it for a long time, because this incredibly simple technique is worth all the praise. Either you can completely complete the look in the shade of the jacket, or you can play around with the colors a little while staying in the same palette. Let’s start with warm tones – let them warm up.
Another useful technique in every sense. The weather hasn’t calmed down yet and it gets warm outside sometimes. Then you unbutton your jacket and it would be better if it wasn’t a thin blouse underneath, but let’s say a golf and denim shirt. Firstly, you will warm up and secondly, you will create the effect of a complex image. You actually added a shirt.
This trick requires skill, so it’s worth practicing before doing it. The contrasts are eye-catching (see the point about playing with textures) and the difference in proportions works just as well. Fashionistas don’t just wear baggy cargo with tight corsets, but voluminous sweatshirts with thin over-the-knee boots. A puffy jacket and leggings are also a great combination, but don’t forget to add an extra layer underneath or opt for a “warm” bottom. Comfort and health – in the first place!
