Are you ready to give up your usual stuff? We don’t judge and we understand, because with age comes the skill of dressing for yourself, and not for others, which is why all the skirts, jeans and shirts in the closet are often your favorites. In this case, stylist Vivienne Desurmont suggests starting small and swapping your regular shoes for something “fun and unique.”
According to Vivien, wearing stylish and comfortable ballet flats or boots can spice up your wardrobe much more than it seems at first glance. “Choose a model with bright colors, interesting textures or embellishments such as metallic details or unusual patterns. This will add freshness to the outfit and help you look younger,” says the stylist.

Retirement is an opportunity to start over. If you have things in your closet that you don’t like but should wear to the office, then it’s time to throw them out and breathe.
“Being 60 doesn’t mean you have to look modest and discreet. It’s time to choose clothes that make you happy and make you feel comfortable and confident,” says stylist Julie Durochet.
You don’t have to get rid of everything you wore to work: Instead, Vivien advises pairing old “professional” trousers, skirts and jackets with new ones to create a unique outfit.
“Try combining a classic blouse or a casual top with a modern bottom. Such combinations not only make things universal, but also allow you to realize your creative potential,” says Desurmont.
According to stylist Roger Lagron, this is another way to liven up a “muted” office style, which can be the basis for experimentation. For example, he points out that structured button-down blazers can liven up any outfit, casual or formal.
Many women in adulthood prefer neutral colors that do not attract attention. But don’t be afraid of the brightness, according to fashion blogger Diane Harper Boyer.
“Our skin gets paler as we age, and pastels and neutrals will make you look washed out. Experiment with shades you haven’t worn before, like bold reds or bright blues. Floral prints, geometric or abstract patterns can add a youthful edge to your outfit,” says Diane.
