Fashion these 3 mistakes will ruin all your clothes: Here’s why things look worn

Ah, not for nothing say fashion experts through one: It is not enough to find quality clothes in a good store, it is also important to take care of them properly. Because even the most expensive wool, the densest cotton, natural linen and on and on in the list will lose their “magical” properties if they are not given proper attention. And yes: clothing also requires a certain attitude!

In addition, it is not necessary to buy super expensive detergents and special hangers – it is enough to regularly follow the basic rules of care for things and not to repeat these frequent mistakes, as reminded by fashion blogger Alex Costa.

Shake but do not mix

First, never mix white clothes with colored clothes. It would seem so obvious, but no! Does it happen that you send a snow-white t-shirt to the wash together with beige pants, a pale pink dress or a blue shirt? Like, everything light can be washed together.

Disaster will not strike, but over time you will notice that the clothes look faded. Because the colored fibers gradually penetrated into the white fibers and the white into the colored ones, creating a small “blurring” that is perceived as a washed-out effect. And at the same time, things can be completely new – but they have lost their appearance.

Stop stretching the collar

Well, who carefully takes T-shirts and turtlenecks off the rack in a hurry? Usually, during high-speed packing for work, we stretch the collar and push the hanger through it – and this is the second serious mistake. One or two such violations probably won’t ruin everything, but if you do this trick regularly, the collar of your polo shirts, T-shirts, sweaters and other things on the shoulders will stretch and curl.

It is details like these that make clothes look sloppy, even if they were purchased recently.

A hinge is not always an option

I bet you have at least one or two knit or wool items that you’re storing incorrectly. The easiest way, of course, is to hang a sweater on a hanger or throw trousers on a crossbar on the same hanger – and pretend that you do not notice how they stretch gradually.

Yes, if you fold your knitwear and leave it on the shelf, you will need to iron it more often. But on the other hand, you avoid unsightly stretch marks and spoiled shape of things. And if it is worth making an effort and spending five minutes on ironing, the wardrobe will thank you and the appearance will look collected and neat for a long time. So it’s worth it!
