Are you longing for new episodes of «The Office»? Then there’s good news: the cult series returns in an Australian adaptation with a female main cast. For the first time in the well-known series franchise, a woman will lead the famous office. Australian actress Felicity Ward was cast to play Hannah Howard, CEO of packaging company Flinley Craddick. The 42-year-old actress is known in Australia for her stand-up comedy.
The series takes place in a post-corona world. Howard learns that her branch is closing and employees are being forced to work from home. The general manager then has to make plans to somehow keep her team together.
This Australian-made adaptation is the 13th spin-off series of the original created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Other international re-releases include those from France, Canada, Chile, Israel and the Middle East. The US version, which aired between 2005 and 2013 and starred Steve Carell as Michael Scott, is perhaps the most popular.
Ricky Gervais had this to say about the new series:
Filming for the eight Australian episodes will begin in Sydney in June. This version will air on Amazon Prime in 2024.
